Having surgery?

If you or someone you know is having surgery, don’t do anything else until you read this.

There’s no doubt about it – having surgery can be scary. But did you know there is a powerful tool that can help you to prepare for your surgery, relax during the procedure and speed your recovery?

Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed state, and through the use of Hypnotherapy, your Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist can help you access your subconscious mind and prepare you mentally and physically for a successful surgery. Hypnotherapy can empower you with greater control and confidence and that is exactly the mental state you want to be in when you have surgery.

Your Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist helps you to relax and mentally prepare yourself for surgery, in a positive and receptive way. And as mentioned earlier, Hypnotherapy can also help accelerate your recovery time.

Let me tell you my personal experience, says Dr. Bunny Vreeland, Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I first experienced the amazing power of Hypnotherapy when I was 8 years old. My own father had surgery, without any anesthetic or medication, and after the surgery he got up, got into his car and drove himself home, without any pain or bleeding.

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique, shown to have incredible results, both on its own and when used as a complement to traditional medicine. In 1958, the American Medical Association approved a report on the medical use of hypnosis. In 1960 the American Psychological Association endorsed hypnosis as a branch of psychology.

The American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association and the British Medical Association studies have shown that hypnosis can be a valuable tool when dealing with a wide range of medical issues.

Dr. Bunny Vreeland, Board Certified, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Wellness Expert, answers some of the most Frequently Asked Questions regarding Hypnotherapy and surgery.

Q: I’m worried about taking a lot of medication when I have my surgery. Can Hypnotherapy help?
A: Yes. The Journal of the National Cancer Institute reported that using. Hypnotherapy before breast surgery reduced the amount of medication required during the procedure. The study also found that Hypnotherapy helped reduce pain and nausea after the surgery.

Q: Have there been any studies done on Hypnotherapy and pain management?
A: Yes, there have been many. In one recent study, researchers at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York did an analysis of 18 studies and revealed that hypnotherapy had moderate to large pain-relieving effects, thus supporting the effectiveness of hypnotherapy for pain management.

Q: I’m scheduled for an MRI before my surgery and I’m really worried about claustrophobia?
A: Claustrophobia can be a big issue when having an MRI.One of my friends recently had her second MRI. The claustrophobia she had felt during her first MRI, without Hypnotherapy, was so extreme that she was terrified of having another one. After one Hypnotherapy session, she was very relaxed and had no negative issues during her second hour-long MRI. The doctors were amazed at her calmness.
