Peggy was an expert when is came to weight loss. Over the years she had tried it all: diets, shots, pills, pre-packaged foods, aversion therapy, and even those dangerous liquid protein fasts.

All had practically the same results – a few pounds lost, to be sure, but then these same few pounds plus several more to spare soon found there way back on her 5’4” frame.

With such a track records of failure, Peggy was quite naturally a bit skeptical when two of her friends told her how they each had lost weight through hypnosis. However, at an all-time high of 157 pounds, she felt she had nothing to lose so she consulted a clinical hypnotherapist. Three and a half months after her first visit she had lost 42 pounds reaching her goal weight of 115 pounds. Best of all, she did it without dieting.

Peggy, her friends, and thousands of men and women across the United States are now turning to a safe, highly effective, and medically approved therapy that they desperately looked upon as their last hope only to find that it proved to be their best choice.

Hypnosis may be defined as an altered state of consciousness characterized by heightened suggestibility, increased physical relaxation, and a focusing of attention and concentration on a specific thought or idea. It allows you to bypass the critical part of the mind and communicate directly with the uncritical subconscious.

This, according to experts, is what makes hypnosis such a powerful tool for weight loss.

“Hypnosis allows the mind to vividly imagine a situation,” according to Dr. Bunny Vreeland. “What the mind conceives, the body has a tendency to achieve.

Or, to put it another way, before anything can be accomplished physically, it must be accomplished mentally.”

Under hypnosis, patients may be guided by their therapist through mental imageries developed specifically for them. For example, they will see themselves at the size and shape they want to be. They may imagine themselves in a store trying on a new pair of slacks, for instance. They’ll actually feel the zipper closing.

“There’s an old saying,” says Dr. Bunny, as she is known to her clients. “Before the weight can come off and stay off of the body, it must come off from between the ears. This means that the only way to successfully and permanently lose weight is to change one’s attitude about the food that is putting the weight on.

“Attitude is everything in life. Hypnosis helps the patient redirect their priorities so that the desire for the fattening foods is replaced by a stronger desire for a slim, trim figure or vibrant vitality or whatever else is important to that particular individual. In that way we can eliminate one of the main stumbling blocks of diets, which is willpower – a very unreliable device.

Willpower means that you have to deprive yourself of something you want. With hypnosis, however, willpower becomes unnecessary since you can’t very well feel deprived of something that you don’t want.

“It’s like this: Diets say ‘I want it,’ meaning the fattening foods, ‘but I can’t have it.’ With hypnosis you’re saying ‘I can have it but I just don’t want it.’ Or, ‘I want less.” After a properly administered hypnotherapy program it would actually take willpower to eat the wrong foods, since they’ll be no desire for them.”

Pamela Segal, another clinical hypnotherapist specializing in weight loss, echoed the same sentiments. “The best approach is a positive one. Diets and the like are basically ineffective because of their negative ness and their reliance on an often times superhuman conscious effort.

Hypnosis allows us to minimize the effort and maximize the results.

“For instance, I recently worked with a patient who was hooked on Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses. She would eat as much as a bag a day. About the third week into her weight loss program I asked her how she was doing with the chocolate. She looked puzzled for a moment and then said. “You know something? I just realized that I haven’t had a Chocolate Kiss in two weeks. I can’t believe it. I don’t want them and I honestly don’t even miss them.”

“That’s a common response, “ adds Dr. Bunny. “ I realize that the results of hypnotherapy may at times seem truly miraculous but it is based on sound, proven, and time=tested principles. Anybody with an open mind, a commitment to change, and a willingness to assume responsibility for his or her habits can be helped to not only lose weight through hypnosis but o lose it permanently.

Ideas, goals, and dreams could be a reality if only you could make yourself do the necessary steps to achieve them.

That is how hypnosis works to motivate you to put into action the plans you have been waiting to implement “someday.”

Hypnosis is a powerful tool that helps people realize their potential and put dreams into action by removing the barriers that impair motivation.

Hypnosis is often misunderstood. Many people believe it can force you to act and react in whatever way the hypnotherapist instructs. Hypnosis cannot make a person into someone different and cannot control a person’s mind. Hypnosis can only draw upon what is within the person.

If hypnosis cannot change who you are, then you may wonder how it can improve one’s motivation. It is simple. Motivation is merely a stimulation response. Many things can motivate a person. For example, hunger motivates us to go and get something to eat. Or, on an emotional stimulation response may be that the promise of payment motivates us to go to work each day.

Sometimes people know what they want, but can’t seem to get motivated to go after it. It may be that the objective is not a priority, like a paycheck coming in to support a family or the need for food. This may be true even though the end goal is something that can improve their life or even bring short term happiness. That is where hypnosis comes into play.

Because hypnosis draws upon the information already stored in the recesses of the mind it can reorganize and in a way reprioritize goals and objectives. Hypnosis is a self improvement method of bringing to the forefront of the mind the information that will serve as a driving force to action.

“Slow and steady wins the race.” It’s not glamorous, but it’s true. The tragedy is that most people never even get in the race, and many of those who do hope that success comes easily and swiftly. When it doesn’t, they’re out of the race, before it really begins. What they don’t realize is that the decision to be unstoppable is never made just once. It is made moment by moment, again and again.

Setbacks are inevitable. In fact, they’re evidence that we’re doing something. The more mistakes we make, the greater our chance of success. Failures indicate a willingness to experiment and take risks.

Unstoppable women have learned that each failure brings wisdom and insight that will take them
one step closer to achieving their dreams. When we focus on one unstoppable moment at a time and stay the course, the end result will take care of itself.

It’s important to remind ourselves that failure is an event, not a person. If you don’t achieve your 30-day goal, does that make you a failure? If you don’t get a promotion at work, does that make you a failure? If you get married and then divorced, does that make you a failure? Of course not!

Failure doesn’t characterize who you are. It is simply an event that happens to you. And when you continue to move forward, despite difficult experiences, you have already won!

ACTION: Find the gift in the setback The next time the outcome you hoped for doesn’t transpire, look for the gift.

Ask yourself the following questions:
1. What can I learn from what happened?

2. What am I grateful for about this experience?

3. What are the potential benefits of this experience?

4. What is the best way for me to move forward?

Commit to finding the gift in any setback. And in advance, tell yourself that you will never, never, never quit. If you don’t give up, you simply cannot fail. Not only will you achieve your dreams, but the combination of your commitment, courage, and faith will rise as the greatest triumph of all.

Know where you are going!

One of my favorite quotes is: “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.”

Know where you are going.

If you’re feeling stuck and frustrated in your life, then I can almost guarantee that you’re one of the 97% who hasn’t defined their goals.

Most people could tell you what’s on T.V. tonight before they could tell you what their life’s goal’s are! How can this be? How can something that is so important to personal success be overlooked by so many people?

I know one reason is the word “goal”. It is such a business-like, logical word for something that is so magical and important… what you experience in your life!

So, from now on let’s refer to it as “dreams”. Expand your thinking and imagine what you truly want in your life. What are your dreams for the future?

Are you going to live a life filled with new and exciting adventures? Are you going to have all the money you want so that you can spend your time doing what you’re truly passionate about with people you love?

If so, than you need to start by having a crystal clear vision of what you want and how your going to do it.

This life isn’t a dress rehearsal and if you’re going to live a truly special life, then you need to have clarity, strategy, and motivation.

Once you have these 3 components, fear melts into ambition, confusion fades into understanding, and your potential becomes your reality.

Everyone knows that setting goals dreams and staying focused is essential to accomplishment, but, let’s face it, goal setting can be boring. Sitting down writing anything that comes to mind, getting sidetracked or overwhelmed, until you finally end up frustrated and quit.

But, suppose you could just relax and allow a clear and compelling blueprint for your life to manifest before you.

Imagine… knowing exactly what you want in life. Sound too good to be true? Well, it isn’t if you use the right process.

Think about it. ‘Clarity’ is the most powerful weapon you have when it comes to living your dream life. When you know exactly what you want, you’re going to instantly feel more relaxed and ambitious. You’ll find yourself getting more done with less effort. Why? Because you’ll have a clear vision of what you truly want.

When this happens and you align your life with your deepest desires, magical things happen.
